The Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AEC/O) industries are rapidly evolving. Building Information Modeling (BIM) has already been around for years and now, smart buildings, digital twins, and artificial intelligence (AI) are the new hot topics.

The technologies are revolutionizing how we design, build, and manage assets. They present significant challenges but also offer new opportunities.

To explore these changes, we are excited to announce the launch of the “**Smart Twins”** podcast by dTwin and the Nemetschek Group, hosted by [Dr. Jimmy Abualdenien](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jimmy-abualdenien/), Head of Digital Twin Product at Nemetschek. This podcast series will feature insightful conversations with leading AECO experts.

##### The host: Dr. Jimmy Abualdenien

With over a decade of experience in developing enterprise cloud solutions for AECO data management, Dr. Jimmy Abualdenien brings profound knowledge to the podcast. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the Technical University of Munich, where he worked on AI and cloud solution projects with Nemetschek. Since 2022, he has been leading product management for Nemetschek's digital twin offerings.

##### Episode 1: How Visualization Can Uncover Critical Errors with Fernanda Leite

In the first episode, Jimmy is joined by [Fernanda Leite](https://www.linkedin.com/in/fernanda-leite-ph-d-p-e-f-asce-a5b270a/), Associate Dean for Research at the University of Texas at Austin. They discuss the transformative impact of BIM and digital twins, and how visualization can uncover critical errors in construction. Fernanda also shares her leadership in minimizing construction waste and advancing scan-to-BIM technologies.
