Revolutionizing AECO Workflows: The AI Assistant that you need

January 2025 was a defining moment for the Nemetschek Group and for me personally. At BAU Munich 2025, we proudly unveiled the AI Assistant, a transformative achievement in our journey of driving innovation, creativity, and productivity within the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) industries. For decades, Nemetschek has led the way in empowering architects, engineers, contractors, and designers with tools that bring their visions to life. The AI Assistant is the next step in that legacy, delivering unprecedented levels of support and intelligence. 

What excites me most about this innovation is how it unifies our ecosystem. The AI Assistant isn’t just a tool or product – it’s a core component of the AI Layer, introduced in late 2024. It represents a bold step into a future where cutting-edge technology does more than support creativity – it actively enhances it. By simplifying routine tasks and enabling smarter workflows, the AI Assistant allows our users to focus on meaningful, impactful work. Designed for seamless integration across all Nemetschek brands, the AI Assistant delivers a consistent, cohesive experience that ties our ecosystem together.

In the AECO industry, we’ve long faced challenges like time-intensive workflows, fragmented information, and the need for collaboration across disciplines and tools. The AI Assistant transforms these challenges into opportunities by simplifying the complex, connecting the scattered, and enabling seamless collaboration. 

The beta version of the AI Assistant, introduced in ALLPLAN and Archicad by Graphisoft, showcases its potential. Within Archicad, the AI Assistant is embedded directly into the software, offering an intuitive, chat-based interface that provides instant access to product knowledge, the ability to query BIM models, and tools to refine designs with ease. Meanwhile, in ALLPLAN, the assistant extends its capabilities to the web, delivering multi-touchpoint functionality for advanced project support and seamless knowledge access. These implementations are united by shared design principles, ensuring a familiar and cohesive experience that allows professionals to transition effortlessly between tools. 

This launch is the first step in realizing Nemetschek’s vision of Agentic AI technologies, a transformative concept designed to reshape workflows, enhance collaboration, and unlock unparalleled efficiency across AECO domains, continuously enhancing its capabilities and tailoring it to individual workflows. But this is just the beginning. 

Our Agentic AI vision centers on developing a network of specialized AI agents that transcend individual tools and tasks. We aim to automate complex workflows across AECO domains, integrating diverse software tools and platforms to create a unified, intuitive user experience that transcends traditional boundaries. By building robust APIs and fostering a thriving developer ecosystem, we attract both human users and AI agents, enabling seamless collaboration and innovation. These agents will adapt to the unique needs of each user, taking on repetitive and complex responsibilities so professionals can focus on creativity and innovation.
